Who is Taye?

Taye is a Kiwi R&B/Soul singer/Songwriter musician who began his musical career busking on the streets of Auckland in 2001. His upbeat debut single "TURN IT UP" hit the New Zealand charts in 2009. The simple yet energetic song has qualities that harness his abilities as an actual musician who can play instruments, sing, and entertain as an all in one package.

He has opened for the US super duo Ki-Ci and Jojo, and has collaborated and played with well-known successful local artists Opshop, PNC, Dane Rumble, Awa and many more . He has shared the bill with NZ chart toppers Adeaze, Misfits of Science and Dei Hamo, whilst also sharing the bill with Sneaky Sound System, The Freemasons and DJ Cash Money.

Having also recorded with artists such as Tyree (MTC) on the album "Global Casino" Featuring international Australian artist Daniel Merriweather which was produced by its beat maker JUSE, providing vocal for Misfits Of Science and FastCrew for their albums, and spending time in studio with a writing team consisting of Jason Kerrison (Opshop, Babysitters Circus) and Paul Matthews (Stylus, Tadpole, I AM GIANT), Taye is a hard working name on the New Zealand music scene.
